This was such a beautiful summer day for a wedding. The portraits I took among the weeping willows are some of my favorite wedding portraits yet. So happy to share these today. -Micah. You can view the whole wedding day and order prints here.
We have a long relationship with Allerton park, including many day trips; hiking and exploring, and our own as well as my parents wedding. Shooting there is always a pleasure. Mel, Cem and their families were just, lovely, wonderful people. The day was gorgeous and the park, as well as Silvercreek’s patio area, provided a […]
Sunday night we had the pleasure of going out to dinner with friends and taking in a Father John Misty show. We found a little time to take some portraits in downtown Champaign before dinner. The show was fantastic and these photos capture a lot of the fun we had. It was a great evening!
We had the opportunity for an evening out without kids, so we chose to go to the Miami Design District — Caitlin had been dying to go see it after she saw they had a Marc Jacobs store. It was a downpour when we came into Miami, so we didn’t get to stay for very […]

The first day we went, it was unseasonably cool at 70 degrees — but since we came from central Illinois, it was a perfectly acceptable temperature for our 3-year-old to wade out in her romper. We visited […]

Caitlin and I haven’t been to the home for 10 years, when her grandparents were still living, but it seemed like the time to […]
So happy to finally be posting these photos I took with Kelsey Bourgeois. I did a session with her at the studio doing yoga, then met up with her and her friends at Defy Gravity in Champaign for more. Their work with hoops and on the pole is so expressive and inspiring. Kelsey exudes kindness, and […]
Caitlin and I disappeared into the small northern Illinois town of Oregon, for a getaway. We stayed in the room W. Somerset Maugham wrote The Razor’s Edge. Magic. -Micah.
When Maria contacted us to shoot their wedding and said she and Caleb were high school sweethearts, I was so excited — because Micah and I were high school sweethearts, too! When she said they were getting married at Allerton Park, I was thrilled — that’s where Micah and I got married! When she said […]
This is a special wedding for me to post. Caitlin and I became great friend with Liz in college, and were so happy when her and Mike not only asked me to take their wedding photos, but also allowed us to bring the kids along to join in the celebration. The whole weekend meant so […]
