Before using my new Mamiya 645 medium format film camera for weddings, I wanted to put it though some paces for personal projects and really get to know it. I took it along with my family to a local fair earlier this summer and tried to capture the essence of the event on color film. This kind of photography is all about capturing the feeling of a place and the atmosphere, very much like shooting a wedding. This is where medium format film comes into play and really shines. You get the hi-res feel of digital, with the earthiness of film. All and all, it’s a winning combination for my style of photography.
